Allied Restoration & Caulking
DAVEY TREE:
Allied Restoration & Caulking recently restored the Davey Tree building located in Kent, Ohio. This was no easy task. It required several of our services. First, we removed 34 linear feet of steel beam, and relayed both the first and second floor elevations with 12 inch block. Allied also ground out all deteriorated joints, and removed versa wall steel as needed, and then re-pointed with with type M mortar. Type M has a high compressive strength (at least 2500 psi) and is recommended primarily for walls bearing heavy loads, but also, due to its durability, for masonry below grade or in contact with the earth: foundations, retaining walls, sidewalks and driveways. Allied also repair the steel plat at the south garage door. Allied removed the existing steel plate, cleaned the area, and primed the existing encased metal beam. Next was the reinstallation of a new metal plate resembling the existing plate in size. This was accomplished by plug welding from the underside up. Allied's experienced paint crew also had to Clean, Prime, and repaint 6 windows, air vents, burglar alarm covers, exterior man door and door jams, roof brackets, electrical conduit trough as needed and the newly installed steel plate above the garage door. Allied's paint crew also painted the exterior block surfaces with elastomeric paint as you will see in the slideshow above. Allied installed four inch block on the interior west wall, and of course all the misc. caulking was easily tackled by Allied's diversely skilled crew.
